College Magazine Front Cover
The title of my magazine is “Meh…”. This term is commonly used on the internet among young people to express a feeling of indifference or to show that they are not bothered/ overly impressed by something. I choose this title as I thought it expressed the general student’s feelings towards a lot of subjects such as politics, news and culture. To keep to the theme I made the colour scheme black and white as it keeps it rather neutral, but still manages to stand out. Another reason I use a black and white colour scheme is because it hides imperfections in editing and on the face of the person featured. The “model” I used for my magazine was a friend that I thought fit very well (style wise) into the modern student stereotype. Again, to continue the theme I asked to look as if he was unimpressed with something and to look away as if not interested. I think he managed to achieve this. The wall that he is in front of is actually a separate picture that I added as the original picture had a unacceptable background. For the wall I added a stylised effect to it to make the magazine stand out more.
I added a small section at the bottom of the front cover so that the audience had a rough idea what was in the magazine before purchasing it. The price of the magazine is 50p, I decided on this from the feedback of the questionnaire as most people would not purchase the magazine if they would have to pay any more than this. The price is located on the bar code at the top right of the magazine.
